The recent reappearance of Ilari “Ziigmund” Sahamies may be short-lived as the Finnish pro lost $275k on Full Tilt last week. Before the last two weeks Sahamies had been on extended downswing that even he had acknowledge the worst in his career.

This week Sahamies immediately jumped out to a $137k profit and looked like he might go on a serious run on the U.S. player-less Full Tilt Poker. It all changed last Monday night.

Sahamies played 878 hands of Pot-Limit Omaha ranging from $50/$100 all the way up to $300/$600. It didn’t matter what stakes Sahamies played as he lost on almost every table that he opened. For more information on Titan Poker visit Titan Poker Bonus Code today.

He was hit hardest in the 6-Max $300/$600 games; however, as noted pros like Rui Cao, Patrik Antonius, Gus Hansen, Esvedra and ronnyr37617 traded huge pots from side to side.

French pro Rui Cao took the biggest winner earning $192k in the 460 hands he played.

Three incredible pros make the week exciting; Phil Ivey has a big week, Gus Hansen can’t be derailed, while Martonas returns to the high-stakes cash games.

Ivey gave a spin to what had been a slow start to 2011 — he booked profits of $476K. Almost all of that profit came next to German player kagome kagome playing $3,000/$6,000 LHE.

It was the second week consecutively making it in the top 10 for Ivey, and he was joined by Matt Hawrilenko (+$415K) and Daniel “jungleman12″ Cates (+$353K) in back-to-back weeks.

We have witnessed Martonas sparingly at the tables in recent years, but he was back this week, up about $175K.
For the second week in a row, fishosaurusREX led all the unfortunate ones at Full Tilt. The draw game specialist booked losses of $688K, besides giving back $750K last week. The aforementioned kagome kagome, who was oppressed by Ivey in the tables, was third this week, down $455K. Hansen didn’t finish in the top 10 this week, hewas 11th among all players, up $148K, keeping him above $3M in profit for 2011.

It hasn’t been the best of years for Daniel Negreanu at the poker tables. With $403,644 in prize money and no single score worth more than $80,000, he has earned less money in 2010 than he has in any year since 2001. But a tough performance at EPT Vienna so far has him close to turning this year around in a huge way.

Negreanu completed Day 2 of the tournament as the chip leader, and he cruised again on Day 3 to end up in second place as the chip bags were distributed at the end of play. With 1,954,000 in chips, Kid Poker following only Konstantinos Nanos (2,007,000) with just 24 players remaining from the original starting field of 587. Much of his steps forward over the last two days has come thanks to finding himself in dominating positions against all-in opponents – from holdings aces against kings to aces against queens to A-J against A-5, Negreanu has often been the recipient of some fantastic pre-flop pairings at the Vienna event. And even when he starts with the worst hand he still managed to find ways to win, as he did with pocket tens against one opponent’s pocket kings and with 6-4 against another opponent’s K-6.

The EPT Vienna is the largest poker event in Austrian history, attracting a total of 587 players and boasting a prize pool of €2,935,000. First place alone is worth €700,000. While there were some initial worries that the large prize pool might attract criminal interest – especially in the wake of robberies at other major European poker tournaments – local police have promised heightened security for the event, which should prevent any incidents.

There was some worry before the event began that the city of Vienna might attempt to stop the tournament from taking place. According to the Austrian Independent, local police had attempted to convince local leaders to cancel the event in reaction to recent robberies that have taken place at other poker tournaments in Europe. However, the tournament went on as scheduled, and police instead raised the level of security for players to help prevent any criminal incidents from occurring.

When it rains, it pours. This is perhaps one of the things running inside Ilari “Zigmund” Sahamies these past few days as he faced several down times in poker. Last week, he was hit by a terrible blow after losing almost a million dollars against Tom “durrr” Dwan. This week seems to be going with the current down trend of his poker life.

On his last event, he got frustrated after losing 768-big blind pot against cadillac1944 and DrugsOrMe, who are also regulars in the game. The good news is he’s able to recover at the latter part of the event by winning $500 grand worth of pot on the event. He had a hit runner-runner flush in the end that made him recover his downward slope trend.

Be sure to be updated with the latest action-packed events by checking online. You’ll find several sites where you can register to watch events and event get deposit bonuses.

Introduction to Titan Poker Rakeback

Lots of people look forward to receiving the Titan Poker rakeback and many of these people end up leaving disappointed because of the fact that the rakeback is not really available in the same way that it is available for many other online poker websites. However, before you let that fact deter you from playing online poker at Titan Poker, consider the VIP program and how the two would match up if the rakeback did exist.

Simplicity of Titan Poker Rakeback

Simplicity actually turns out to be the only category that the Titan Poker rakeback would win over the VIP program in. Assuming that the rakeback would work the same way here as it does elsewhere, all you would have to do is sign up for the program and you would get paid on a regular basis based on the amount of rake that you were to generate. The VIP program on the other hand requires that you collect points based on rake and tournament fees and from that point it then requires that you advance up through the ranks each month and then decide what you would like to spend your points on.

Redemption Rate for Titan Poker Rakeback

The redemption rate is essentially a tossup between the rakeback and VIP schemes. The rakeback has a redemption rate that is directly based on the amount of rake that you generate and therefore is a percentage of a number. The VIP program normalizes your rake by giving you points based on the rake that you generate and then allowing you to use those points later to get cash or other merchandise. The amount of points you gain gets multiplied as you rise up through the VIP levels however and in addition to that the rate of points redemption can be as low as 58.3 points per dollar if you save up enough points to trade in for cash. Therefore, the VIP program can actually be a lot more lucrative than most people would give it credit for being.

Choice

In terms of choice, there is absolutely no contest between the two. The VIP program wins out completely. With a rakeback, all you have is the set percentage on the set rake. The only way you can earn more is to play more. With the VIP program however you can hold onto points and trade them in larger amounts to get a better rate of conversion and you can even wait and buy merchandise that might be a better deal than a direct monetary conversion. The choice is completely yours as to what you want to do with your points and that is why you get a lot more flexibility when using the VIP program.

Conclusion

As you can see, there are many similarities between the theoretical Titan Poker rakeback and the VIP program that actually exists. It can even be argued that the VIP program is better for the choice category and that means that even without a Titan Poker rakeback you can still get a lot of great bonus cash from this online poker website.

As reported recently, the World Poker Tour (WPT) signed the contract with Fox Sports in its home for around three years. There will be 9th, 10th, as well as the 11th season of the said tour that will be aired live every Sunday evening at 8:00pm and 11:00pm. Fox Sports will also feature additional broadcasts for the program during weekends on specific time.

The season 7 of the World Poker Tour was aired on Fox Sports and it is noted to gain success for the Network at the same time with the Tour. In you try to compare, Fox Sports gain more viewers than the recent home of WPT, GSN and the promos of the weekly airing rake increase as the network was changed.

As the tour entered its 9th season, there are so many expected changes to happen. The show is highly compared with the broadcast of the ESPN with the World Series of Poker (WSOP) that recently reported to sink 16% on ratings. This coming season WPT expects to gain the previous success with regards to the partnership with the network. The access of viewers to the event is easier and the possibility is to uphold the ratings of the network as well as the tournament.

Tuesday’s finale witnessed Obrestad compete against a startling group that included Scott Sitron and Fatima Moreira de Melo, whom she beat heads-up to move on to Wednesday’s finale. The top 14 players are definite for $7,000, with a grand prize of $382,000 up for grabs.

Poker pro J.C. Tran is one major obstruction that stands in Obrestad’s way to her second WSOP bracelet. Tran has two WSOP bracelets, which he grabbed in 2008 in a $1,500 No Limit Hold’em event and last year in a $2,500 Pot Limit Omaha competition. Also, Tran has more than $2 million in career WSOP and Circuit Event earnings. The feat will continue at 2:30pm PT today.

The only bracelet awarded on Tuesday was nabbed by Hungary’s Valdemar Kwaysser, who took down the Pot Limit Hold’em Championship (Event #38) for $617,000. Kwaysser outlived a field of 268 and rimmed out Canadian Matt Marafioti heads-up.

The tournament always draws virtually small crowd, but the final table is always a stacked affair, thanks to the awesome presence of pros in the field.

Last year, John Kabbaj of Great Britain grabbed the bracelet in this event. The field at this time sits at 240 players, but there is still a small window for players to register before Level 3 begins.

Steve “MrTimCaum” O’Dwyer is presently off to fast start in the event, having doubled his 30,000 chip starting stack in the first two hours of play owing to the big hands against Dwyte Pilgrim and James Calderaro. After eliminating Heather Sue Mercer, DoylesRoom Brunson 10 member Dani Stern is also an early big stack with over 80,000, but don’t expect much clamor from Tom “durrrr” Dwan in this event—he busted in the second level of play.
